The Electronic Commerce Law of Iran

The Electronic Commerce Law of Iran (or E-Commerce Law) has been adopted on January 14th, 2004. The adoption of this law was a great step towards the electronic commercial coding in Iran.

Indeed, the Electronic Commerce Law was one of the very first attempt of the Parliament of Iran to adopt the country with the actual transformation of Iran as one of the pioneers in the arena of the E-Commerce.

The electronic Commerce Law of Iran next to the Consumer Rights Protection Act (2009) are the legislations that supposed to wave the legal concerns of commercial conduct in the electronic atmosphere.

The E-Commerce Law of Iran has 6 chapters as follows:

  1. General Provisions;
  2. Certification Service Provider;
  3. Miscellaneous;
  4. Fines and Penalties;
  5. Compensation, and
  6. Miscellaneous Provisions.
