Substantive law of the divorce is articulated in the Code of Civil Law (CCL), articles 1133-1157. These articles deal with the basic terms on the matter. As for procedures, the general applicable laws are the “law of the family protection” (LFP) and the “Code of Civil Procedures” (CCP). The latter is the essential code of procedures of divorce and the CCP contains nothing specific to this effect. The LFP has also an executive regulation which is relatively brief and supplements a number of LFP rules.
